I would like to thank some of my lang8 friends for their concern over my work problems.
To explain in detail I have to go to Canada in March.
I don't want to make another contract at my current school.
In the next contract things like my pay and apartment are all worse.
More than anything my boss doesn't respect me.
I don't like to boast about other things, but I can teach English well.
In the last ten months my student's English ability has improved a lot.
But my boss thinks she can get another teacher for cheaper.
I can't look for another job now.
That's because my passport is expiring this summer.
I need a new passport before I can get a new work visa.
I lost my birth certificate so I need a new birth certificate before I can get a new passport.
So I have to go back to Canada on March 10th.
I don't know exactly how long it will take to get a new passpprt so I can't look for a new job.
I wanted to stay in Korea for a long time, but now I'm not so sure.
I've spent the last year working hard, preparing classes and studying Korean.
But no good results have happened.
I'm frustrated.
So I don't know if I'm going to come back to Korea.
I can go to a different city or country.
Sorry for writing about my complaints again.
I don't want your pity.
I just wanted to share my current mind.
Sometimes something good comes from something bad.

I went to Busan this weekend.I had lived in Busan for two years so I have a bunch of* friends there.Last fall I also had a girlfriend there so I visited often.After the breakup I've been busy in Daejeon so I hadn't gone to Busan again until yesterday.Because of the stress I wrote about in the dairy before last I wanted to hang out with some close friends.When it comes to close friends even if you haven't seen each other in a long time your relationship doesn't change.Also one of my friends had a baby two months ago. I finally got to see her.I blew off* a lot of stress. I still have my problems at work, but I can deal with them.Well last night was a night short on sleep and rich in alcohol so I should get some sleep.Good night everyone! * a bunch of = many = a lot of (casual speech)* blow off stress = relieve stress (casual)

1. 계속 눈이 왔다

일단 조동사다음에 have pp는 일반적인 현재완료처럼 과거부터 현재까지 쭉이 아닙니다.
조동사담에 오는 행동에 대해 과거로 표현하고 싶은데, 조동사담엔 동사원형밖에 없으니
have pp를 쓴거죠. 즉 과거에 이미 일어난 일을 묘사한거죠. 그러다보니 후회가 되기도 하고 그런거죠.
would have pp ~할거였었는데...(근데 안했어)
A: she said she would go shopping this morning. .오늘 아침에 쇼핑간다고 하던데.
B: she would have gone the day before, 그 전날 갈거렸었을텐데...(왜 안갔지?)

Last Saturday I did my salsa performance.
I made a lot of mistakes, but it was fun.
I took classes for two and a half months.
Why did I learn salsa? It wasn't just because I was bored.
I studied acting in university.
During that time I had dancing classes. I had never danced before then.
Other students were very good.
In my first year I practiced very hard and improved.
Before my second year I hurt my back at work. I was in pain for a long time.
For the remaining three years of university I couldn't dance.
Luckily a few years ago I was able to fix my back through exercise.
So I had another chance to succeed at something I failed at.
So no matter how bad I did I liked doing the recital.
Five years ago I couldn't have done it.
Now I can. A little. I'm still a beginner.

I'm suffering from insomnia again. These days I'm avoiding coffee and other caffeine containing beverages but I can't sleep well. I've tried drinking milk or chamomile tea, meditation, baths, etc... nothing seems to work. I've had insomnia off and on for a while so I'm used to it. When I'm in a sleep shortage I can work and exercise satisfactorily but I can't study well. It's difficult to focus. And the things I do[강세] study I can't remember later. Anyway, I'm tired now so I'll try again to sleep all night. Goodnight!

I was really busy last week. I had a holiday because of Chuseok. I went to meet some friends in Busan. I studied a lot of Korean through my ipod during my trip, but I wasn't able to write any lang8 journals. This week I want to rebuild my habit of writing journals.
I'm tired and hungry after work so writing always seems tough. Today as well I thought of procrastinating until tomorrow. Why are good habits so easy to lose? Tomorrow I can start exercising again. It'd be nice if I could rebuild a lot of good habits this week.

As you know I teach English at my job. For the sake of my students I always want to improve my teaching abilities.So I'd like to pose a question to my lang-8 friends. All of you have learned English, so would you mind sharing your personal experience? In school or academies could you please share the good points and bad points of studying English? If you are able to remember I would really like to know the mind of an Elementary student.
When you were first learning English what was the most useful method?
Among your study what was the most tedious and boring method?
Of course I already have a teaching style, but I have never studied English myself. Maybe if I hear your opinion I can become a better teacher.

My eyes haven't recovered fully yet but I can use a computer comfortably.
I made a mistake in my last journal (of course, I make mistakes every time)
I didn't get LASIK surgery, I got LASEK surgery. They're a little different.
For example after getting LASIK surgery after a week you can go back to your normal life.
On the other hand if you get LASEK there are a lot of prohibited actions for a whole month.
I can't drink. That's fine, I like beer but I don't need it. I can't go to a bath house. No problem. I don't know any good baths near my place. I can't swim. I like it but I don't do it often. I'm a man so things like eye makeup, hair dyeing and perms don't really concern me much.
But I can't exercise for a month. The world will come to an end! How?????
I was a personal trainer at a club when I lived in Canada and I still really like exercise. I workout almost everyday. Well, there's nothing I can do. I'm not allowed to exercise. But I'm allowed to eat pizza and ice cream. This seems like a dangerous situation.
